The mission
At Nomads Compass Publishing, our mission is to amplify LGBTQ+ voices and stories. We are seeking fictional works by LGBTQ+ authors or featuring LGBTQ+ characters and themes. If your story aligns with this vision, we’d love to hear from you!
GUIDELINES
What We’re Looking For
We accept the following:
Works previously released publicly in any format are not eligible.
Fiction: Stories in any genre (literary fiction, romance, fantasy, sci-fi, etc.) that prominently feature LGBTQ+ characters, themes, or narratives.
Eligibility:
Submissions must be original, unpublished, and written by an LGBTQ+ author or center LGBTQ+ experiences.
How to Submit
Manuscript Formatting:
- Use 12 pt Times New Roman or a similar readable font.
- Double-spaced with 1-inch margins.
- Save as a Word document (.doc/.docx) or PDF file.
- Include your name, email, and manuscript title on the first page.
Query Letter:
- A brief introduction to you and your work.
- A 250–500 word synopsis summarizing your story.
- Mention how your work aligns with our focus on LGBTQ+ voices and stories.
Submission Materials:
- Attach the first 3 chapters or first 25 pages of your manuscript.
- Include a 1-page synopsis summarizing the entire story.
Send Your Submission:
Use the subject line: “Submission – [Book Title] – [Your Name]”.
Email your submission to submissions@nomads-compass.com.
What to Expect
Review Process:
We aim to review submissions within 8–12 weeks. If you don’t hear from us after 12 weeks, feel free to follow up.
Feedback:
While we can’t provide feedback for all submissions, detailed feedback is provided for shortlisted or accepted works.
Next Steps:
If your manuscript is accepted, we’ll contact you to discuss the publishing process, including editing, design, and distribution.

Once accepted, we collaborate with you to refine your manuscript through editing and prepare it for publication, including cover design and formatting.

Your book is published across major platforms, and we work with you on marketing efforts to share your story with readers everywhere.
What types of manuscripts do you accept?
We accept fiction with LGBTQ+ themes across all genres.
How long does it take to hear back about my submission?
Our review process typically takes 8–12 weeks. If you don’t hear from us within 12 weeks, feel free to follow up.
Can I submit multiple manuscripts at once?
Yes, but please send each manuscript in a separate email with its own query letter.
Can I submit to other publishers simultaneously?
Yes, simultaneous submissions are allowed, but please inform us if your manuscript is accepted elsewhere.
Who do you accept submissions from?
We accept both debut and experienced authors! We encourage submissions from anyone and are here to support you throughout the process.
Do I need an agent to submit my work?
No, you don’t need an agent. We accept direct submissions from authors.
Do you accept previously self-published works?
No, any work that has been publicly released in any format is ineligible for submission.
Do you provide feedback on submissions?
Due to the high volume of submissions, we can only provide detailed feedback for shortlisted works or accepted manuscripts.
